About Us
Lotus Rising Project was created by youth and mentors who wanted to make a positive impact on social change in Southern Oregon.
The founders saw a need for changes in our communities, our agencies and our services for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and ally people.
We began as an independent youth group with a passion for creating something larger, that would give back to the entire community.
Our programs and events serve all ages and our Board of Directors, staff and committee members work to mentor each other and make better changes for all.
Our Vision
We envision a world without oppression, where respect and compassionate activism create a climate in which people can freely express their sexual orientation and gender identity without fear of retribution. In this world, everyone creatively contributes to social change and youth are empowered to actively build the world in which they want to live.
Our Mission
Lotus Rising Project is a youth initiated, compassion-based service organization that embraces diversity. We create community and social change through respect, education and responsible action.
